Can you afford a new website in a recession? Can you afford not to have one?

There are many, many small businesses finding times are hard right now as we, only tentatively, emerge from a long and significant economic recession. Turnover may be down along with downward pressure on prices that your customers will tolerate. You might say to yourself "I can't afford a new website or an updated website".

Well, the truth may well be the reverse of that - you simply may not be able to afford not to update your website or gain an effective web presence for the first time. Why? Quite simply - you may be loosing custom to competitors who are making the most of good Internet exposure through a well designed, search-engine friendly website.

As you will know, more and more customers, for all types of product and service, are turning to the Internet first to find that product or service. If your business does not feature there - you are loosing out on business that you can ill afford to let pass you by.

I have just completed a website for a sole-trader who operates as a Domestic Energy Assessor in Hertfordshire, UK. He is simply thrilled that his website appears on page one of Google when someone types "Energy Assessor Hertfordshire" (you can check that for yourself by clicking this link). The website is www.timduncombe.com and is designed to be extremely search-engine friendly and is helping Tim grow his business from day one of going live with significant new business finding Tim on-line.

The bottom line is that such a website can pay for itself very quickly and be contributing additional profits to your business - helping your business through these difficult economic circumstances.

The answer is not to throw £'thousands at a new website but to invest, say £400 or so, in a professionally built website that puts your business in front of potential customers in a way that converts them into new business. Depending on your business area such a website can have paid for itself with just 10, 5, 2 or even just 1 new customer

That is were I can help as I specialise in creating feature rich, effective, search-engine-friendly websites that far exceed your expectations in terms of functionality and ability to assist your business to grow.
