Summary: 

This two day Drupal 7 training course provides attendees with the knowledge and skills to build flexible and comprehensive Drupal websites. Over the two days we focus on the key Drupal modules that help us to build sophisticated, client-pleasing, custom, websites quickly and cost-effectively: Views, Field UI, Rules, Flag and Events with Date & Calendar modules - and more besides.

N.B. This standalone two day training course forms the core part of the Drupal Training Series and can be booked on its own or with either of the two other training days in the series: "Drupal in a Day | An Introduction" and/or "Theming Basics for Drupal"

Those reasonably new to Drupal 7 and who want to gain essential Drupal skills & knowledge.

Prerequisites: 

Attendence at "Drupal in a Day | Hands On | Introduction" or some other Drupal experience is desirable.

Course Outline: 

Following this two day course attendees will be able to:

  • Develop sophisticated Drupal websites using the major techniques
  • Use the most powerful, essential, Drupal modules: Views, Field & Field UI, Rules, Panels and more
  • Build custom content types using the Fields UI
  • Manage and re-use field definitions within content types
  • Reference one content type from another
  • Reference users to content on your Drupal site
  • Use Views to produce lists of the content you need to display to your visitors and website users
  • Use Views relationships
  • Use arguments in views
  • Understand actions, conditions and events with Rules
  • Create global and non-global flags
  • Trigger Rules with flags
  • Set flags with Rules
  • Work with events using the Date & Calendar modules
Requirements: 
  • Attendees provide their own Internet-ready laptop (Drupal installation is included as part of each course).
  • Attendees simply need to be comfortable using a computer and a browser (downloading files from Internet etc.)
  • SOME PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF DRUPAL DESIRABLE

Terms and conditions:

  • Course fees are payable when the course is booked and your place reserved. Your seat on the course is reserved for seven days - pending payment in advance. Attendance will not be possible unless fees have been paid.
  • Cancellation fees: Notice must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the course date for a refund to apply. With between 4 and 2 weeks notice of cancellation or postponement, 50% of your payment will be retained as a cancellation charge. With less than 2 weeks notice the cancellation charge will be 100% (no refund due).
  • I do reserve the right to make changes to the programme for the course without prior notice and the venue (any alternative venue will be a reasonable distance from the original and at least 48 hours notice will be given).
  • In the event of a terrorist alert, or any other incident that causes unavoidable disruption - I will not offer refunds to delegates unless the event is canceled - in which case I will retain up to 30% of the ticket cost to cover my non-recoverable costs.
  • N.B. Substitutions are perfectly acceptable as long as the person standing in fulfills the prerequisites for the course (if any).
