Summary: 

Drupal is built on PHP and relies on a unique combination of procedural and some OOP practices. An understanding of PHP is required for the development of both Drupal modules and for advanced theming. This two day PHP training course (tailored to Drupal) is designed very carefully to provide the essential PHP coding skills for those wanting to develop custom modules for Drupal (or tackle advanced theming) - but - who do not have the necessary PHP skills. After two focused and intensive days training you will be familiar with all the key aspects of PHP - particularly those used extensively in Drupal.

N.B. This 2 day course acts as a gateway course/perquisite for non programmers to the 2 day "Drupal Module Development" course (attending these two days and the two day "Drupal Module Development" course will equip attendees with the necessary core skills to start building their own custom Drupal modules).

This course is aimed at: 

"Drupalistas" (Drupal site-builders and themers) and those new to Drupal who do not have PHP coding skills

Prerequisites: 

Experience with Drupal and some other coding experience is desirable but not essential

Requirements: 
  • Attendees provide their own Internet-ready laptop.
  • Attendees simply need to be comfortable using a computer and a browser (downloading files from Internet etc.)
  • PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF DRUPAL DESIRABLE

Terms and conditions:

  • Course fees are payable when the course is booked and your place reserved. Your seat on the course is reserved for seven days - pending payment in advance. Attendance will not be possible unless fees have been paid.
  • Cancellation fees: Notice must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the course date for a refund to apply. With between 4 and 2 weeks notice of cancellation or postponement, 50% of your payment will be retained as a cancellation charge. With less than 2 weeks notice the cancellation charge will be 100% (no refund due).
  • I do reserve the right to make changes to the programme for the course without prior notice and the venue (any alternative venue will be a reasonable distance from the original and at least 48 hours notice will be given).
  • In the event of a terrorist alert, or any other incident that causes unavoidable disruption - I will not offer refunds to delegates unless the event is canceled - in which case I will retain up to 30% of the ticket cost to cover my non-recoverable costs.
  • N.B. Substitutions are perfectly acceptable as long as the person standing in fulfills the prerequisites for the course (if any).
