Yes. You need to bring your own - Internet Ready - laptop to the training. All software will either be provided via download, via a memory stick or will be pre-installed on a server accessible via the web.
This will be given in the "pre-requisites" section of the description page for each course. Generally speaking, most courses are open to all - regardless of prior experience unless otherwise stated.
No. But, if you wanted to get a head start on a particular course - then please let me know and I will provide the best and most useful links to introduce you to key concepts and skills you will make use of in that course.
Yes. Any of my Drupal training courses can be delivered on Drupal 6 - on request. I will schedule a new public date and flag the course as delivered on "Drupal 6". Alternatively, you can request a private course - either in London or at you place. More information - here.
Yes, of course. You can commission me to deliver a private training session at your place.
My rate for private courses ("training at your place") is calculated at £600 per day - plus a per attendee supplement of £100 - plus my expenses (see below).
I am happy to mix and match content from existing public courses to suit your needs or to quote for custom training tailored to your requirements.
Expenses (for private courses only)
Travel expenses @ £0.40 per mile. Plus overnight accommodation costs that may be necessary. I am happy to travel up to 100 miles (from SG9 0NT) for a single day's training without an overnight stay.
I do not cancel. Even if just one attendee - once you have paid the course fee your course will run.
Notice of cancellation must be no later than 3 weeks prior to the event date for a full refund. If less than three weeks notice of cancellation a 30% handling and administration charge will apply. No refunds are possible if notice of cancellation is less than one week.
N.B. Substitutions are perfectly acceptable as long as the person standing in fulfills the prerequisites for the course (if any).
Websites

Basically, all my websites are built on top of an award winning "website engine" - Drupal. This is, in effect, a professional web developer's "toolbox" that, in the right experienced hands, makes rapid website development possible without any compromise on quality. Although Drupal is easy to use for you (as an end-user) - it is quite complex, yet extremely powerful, for me as the developer. Drupal makes sophisticated, robust and secure websites very affordabe. I can help smaller businesses "punch above their weight" on the Internet.
Yes, of course. The content management features are optional and if you prefer for me to attend to content changes that is fine. Typically new pages will be around £25 to £50 depending on the nature/complexity of the content and minor edits will be just £15 per page. So, yes if you suspect that changes to the website will be minimal and infrequent you can simply rely on me to assist as and when required.
No. If you already have suitable web hosting (this needs to offer PHP 5 and mySQL 5) I can build, install and configure using your existing web space. However, if you wish for your installation to be updated as and when new updates for the website engine (Drupal) become available - there will be additional costs for me to update your website (typically £50 each quarter/major update).
No problem. What I will do is discuss your exact requirements over the telephone and then check to see if there are any pre-written software modules that provide the functionality you need. If yes - then I will quote for my time to configure, tweak (if necessary) and test the new module against your website. If I need to build a new module to provide the functionality - I will quote you for that and it really depends then on how complex it is.
No - if you prefer - I will build the website - with the navigation system, theme, colour scheme, logos etc... provide the necessary training (typically just one hour) and then you can add the content to each page yourself - in your own time.
Typically - a starter website will be ready in just two to three days from you supplying the necessary information - like logos, page copy etc.
