I have just completed a school website for Great Hormead Primary School (the school in the village where I live - in fact).

They are very pleased with it and so am I - you can check it out here www.hormead.herts.sch.uk. The Drupal toolkit really does make such websites fast to create and thereby very cost-effective for the school on a tight budget.

I have been able to far exceed the expectations they had on a relatively tight budget with a website that I hope, and am fairly confident, will enthuse pupils, delight parents, impress governors (and inspectors alike) and empower staff. The primary feature will be the ability of staff at the school to manage the website content themselves - being able to frequently and easily show-case pupil work too.

Add to this the "Calendar of Events" feature, Head's blog, school announcements and news - and you really see why they are so pleased.

Being an ex-teacher myself (although high school) I was able to better understand the requirements of a school website and the potential to connect to all stakeholders in the school through the school website.

How much for such a feature-rich website? Just £600.
